Change of use from a nightclub to a studio gym in Croydon

The brief for the project involved transformation of an existing building into a gym. The project required a planning permission due to the change of category of use. The proposed use was categorised as D2, studio classes and indoor sport facilities.

The designers proposed a scheme that included two studio spaces and a pilates studio allowing multiple classes and activities to take place at the same time. The planning application process was successful and permission was granted due to a sensitive approach that satisfied requirements of the local development plan of Croydon Council. The proposal fit the context and Croydon Local Plan to improve the image of Croydon by bringing life to the vacant site and creating opportunities for commercial development.
