Our client in Copse Hill, Merton came to us asking for a loft conversion with dormer and roof lights. The dormer extension to the roof at the rear, and the skylights at the front. They also instructed our 3D Render service.
Design for the loft conversion with dormer and roof lights
In order to make our design sympathetic to the surroundings, so we considered carefully the scale in proportion to the host building, and to neighbouring loft conversions. It was therefore in keeping with the aesthetic of the rooflines for that road, and also avoiding any possible contention. In addition, the original house did not lose any of its architectural style or look odd with the extension.
We always have to think of the reasons applications are refused:
- Right To Light: We should not cause loss of light to a neighbor
- Overlooking: The new windows should not invade privacy to habitable rooms of neighbours
- Massing: The extension should not look too bulky
To ensure that the style of the loft conversion was in keeping with the existing building, we chose similar materials and colours for this development.
Our proposal was approved by Merton Council. Our standard service always offers a second option for the same quote with the planning services and if you instruct our 3D Immersive Design package, we create unlimited revisions until our client is pleased with the proposal.
