Designing a Dark Kitchen: Color Ideas for Blue, Green and Grey

The color scheme of an interior greatly influences our mood and behavior; hence it is an important aspect of home design. The kitchen is a place where functionality and aesthetics go simultaneously since it is the heart of every home. Choosing the right kitchen interior creates an atmosphere that would best suit your way of living and improves the overall experience. We do know that not everyone may fancy a dark theme, and perhaps that is the very reason why you should we want to influence you otherwise!

Designing a Dark Kitchen: Color Ideas for Blue, Green and Grey

Dark colours can be too easy to disregard as they may not fit into the idea of brightening your house interiors. But not all spaces of your house need to be flooded with light, do they? Here’s why!

Imagine this! A boiling kettle with smoke oozing out against a dark green leathery brick cladding! It may strike you straight from a comic book! Dark hues can be that dramatic and will add that element of mystery and sophistication to certain spaces. Adding to this, if you can imagine it, kitchens can be more favoured to suit dark themes than any other segment inside of a house.

The reason being, kitchens are quite different and distinct in nature! They are settlements that house those bright crockeries, dangling whisks, or cutlery, and shiny chimneys. A plain white wall may not be able to offer that aesthetic justice as compared to an oil-blue rich hue brick cladding. It is a different pinch altogether that exudes a vibrant feel to the kitchen.

Whether you are looking for a pitch-black cabinet, or thick green brick cladding, these ideas may inspire your kitchen areas for a stunningly sophisticated kitchen aura.

Some designs require subtle contrasts. Grey cabinets placed alongside white walls offer a soft and elegant feel to the kitchen aura. A worktop in the middle that bears a dark themed stem and atop a furnishing stone will make for a stunning look.

Dark Green Hued Claddings

Brick claddings such as these offer a mystic and elegant feel to the kitchen. Placing a barely distinguishable cabinet with crockeries resting upon it exudes a sense of luxury and glamour. A sink with steel or any metal fitting will add to the beauty a bit more. Such wall claddings can wipe away oil dirt or liquid splashes just easily. A great mixture of function and fashion.

Be Blue Bold

Don’t hesitate to go all dark. This is a great example of how stunning your kitchen can look. Blue hued walls and blue cabinets do not anywhere feel clamoured. With the right arrangement, your kitchen can look par elegance whilst offering a sense of neatness and a mystic beauty to it.

All Grey and Light Floorings

This combination of grey and white works excellently well with the patio allowing abundant natural light. The plain white hued floorings complement wondrously taking in the natural light and reflecting back to lift the kitchen aura, while also adding a spacious feel even with a big diner in the middle.

Classical Pale Blue

This neo-classical styled kitchen exudes luxurious elegance along with offering a timeless feel. The symmetry that comes along suits perfectly for big family unions and dining. If you have a spacious hallway, with big patios and windows, do not hesitate to create this classic. Perfect for the British pedigree.

Soft Grey and Decorative

As simple as it looks, this kitchen extension is contrasted in three folds. A barely noticeable wall tile coloured in cream still overpowers the white wall making it a necessary element. The glaring brass handles add an ornamental feel to the pale green lower cabinets which are further adorned with flowerpots atop the slab. Though just as a two-piece corner placement, the upper chimney and the box cabinet make for a fine contrast.

Brick Clads and Navy Blue

Kitchen Extension Ideas

Navy blue cabinets and white countertops always are a delight. This design adds more flavour given the plain brick clads but not without a proper decoration to go with. This goes for a bold try and goes really well given the many variants inside the space. A mixture of classical and neo-style, a perfect British resonance.

Herringbone backsplash

Kitchen design

If you want to go timeless with your kitchen, then the herringbone backsplash is a must try. Both black and white countertops complement wonderfully against a glossy green pattern. Ridiculously easier to maintain with a tinge of nostalgia adding to your everyday life.

How to decide what suits best?

When it comes to choosing a dark cabinet, go with what instinctive of you. The designs are several, from timeless patterns to timeless arrangements; from neo styled to classical adorned. Whatever the style may be, be sure of the colours. Dark or navy-blue cabinets will always resonate with vibrance and elegance. Glossy dark green hues time and again offer an earthy feel, and only needs a subtle countertop contrast for a lavish feel. On the other hand, a pale green if decorated well is a humble embrace inside a kitchen.

If you desire more light in your kitchen then space up your dark kitchen to accommodate light colours on ceilings or higher up on the kitchen wall. Go for white countertops. All these will still bring in ample light into your dark kitchen.

If you want to adorn your kitchen and make it look like a nature bed, do not hesitate to decor it with small home plants and flowerpots or even climbers going over your upper cabinet.

Let free your creativity and go for it.
